PPF Nautilus 5711 rep — how close to genuine?
The dial is stamped (not printed) with the horizontal 4x embossed pattern that catches light like genuine. The applied hour markers are polished on all 6 facets. The case-back is engraved with the Patek shield. Movement is Miyota 9015 clone (28,800vph) — genuine uses caliber 26-330 S C at 28,800vph, so beat rate is 1:1. Different rotor and finishing.
Why did PPF Patek rep prices double in 2024?
PPF is the only remaining factory in Guangzhou doing the stamped horizontal Nautilus dial. Other factories switched to laser-printed dials to cut costs. PPF kept the stamping tool. When AAA (the previous stamping factory) shut down in early 2024, PPF became the only source and adjusted prices.
Aquanaut 5167A tropical strap — genuine feeling?
The rubber-composite tropical strap on our PPF Aquanaut rep is close to genuine — soft, slightly rough surface texture, doesn't sweat-stick. Genuine Patek uses a proprietary rubber compound; the rep uses food-grade silicone. Weight is 5g lighter than genuine.
Calatrava 5227R — is this a good rep for wearing to a wedding?
Yes. The Calatrava 5227 in rose-gold-tone stainless steel (not real rose gold — that's why it's $145 not $2000) is the dress-watch rep pick. 39mm case, 3-hand with date, hand-wound rep movement. Slides under any dress-shirt cuff without catching.
Do Patek reps come with the correct pillow box?
PPF ships with a leather-covered wooden case that's about 85% of the genuine feel. If you want to gift it, upgrade to the full presentation set ($35 extra) which includes the wooden box, warranty card blank (unsigned), and micro-fiber pouch.
